It started with a promise

This was created is down to a promise made when I first opened a small business back in 2009, a small kitchen serving meals inside a comedy club.

It seemed I was constantly up against it, costs seemed to spiral as well as having little or no office space it was a daily struggle. Well I decided no one should have to struggle and with several businesses under my belt PDH Atrium was born.

Our aim is to provide all the tools any business would need to get themself off of the ground. Our HR system is simply the first step, we our future projects will include payroll, trackers for equipment maintainace as well as annual audits. We will never be finished as we will always be adding features as the times change.

Something Missing

I would spend hours searching for information and help, with little or no budget I would use the word 'FREE' in the search, this would bring up lots options and although this seemed great. There always seemed to be a catch

I would go through each link and normally after you had signed up and given all of your details you would get hit with the 'Credit Card Details' or explained that was a trial version for a limited period.

Worse still some programs would hit you with the 'To use this function you need to upgrade' These tended to be the whole reason you wanted the app or program in the first place.

Settling

In the end you would settle for the best you could afford. Spending a monthly amount out your already tight finances. You dont want to risk breaking the law so you have to use these services. You kid yourself it is worth it in the end.

All your finances worked out using excel, your paperwork all of the small office, no space for anything yet all of the paperwork keeps mounting up. Some things you are sure need to be stored securly, such as employee details, taking up space. Have you got everything you need?

You dont want to take risks so you make sure you have copies of everything. You have all your policys and manuals so much information all over the place. Its chaos but your pretty sure you have everything you need.

It really should not be this way, this is what started the initial project. I could not afford all of these expencive programs or systems but wanted to make sure I was complient and not breaking any rules

I wanted to give back, I wanted to help and am sure alot of other people felt the same. I did find alot of open source programs but this was all too late. I had spent more money than I needed. I didnt want others to make the same mistakes.

I promised myself when I could I would make sure people did not have same experiences as me.

What to do

I wanted to help. But what could I do? I am just one person.How could I help? I thought about the things I belived in.

Only charge what if have to. Not profit.

• Helpful

Would it help someone, I beleive in helping.

Putting these simple values in prime place was the start. These would be the building blocks of what I wanted to acheave.
